I think the Kindle version is abbreviated; I seemed to read through it so quickly, I don't remember the story going so fast in the book. But it was convenient to have it on Kindle. The story is about the journey of the Christian, from the time of his awareness of sin to his "crossing the river" to get to the Celestial City (Heaven). It's an allegory giving attributes as people's names along the way, the snares and temptations that Christians struggle with. It's peppered with Bible verses along the way to give an example of how these verses can be used in real life. "Pilgrim's Progress," written in the later 1600's and is 2nd only to the number of printings, publications and translations to the Christian Holy Bible.Product details

this book has helped me to re-focus my walk on Jesus. Jesus alone! I have seen myself in this book all to clearly.
Difficult old English read, but worth the time and struggle to reach the message. Unusual tale with familiar ring of experiences faced daily by those struggling in their faith.
A very old book that used to be required reading in high school but would never be allowed now. I would suggest it wouldn't be a waste of time to read this book as well as Ben Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanac. Both would be a revelation. Considering their endurance, they have to be classics.
Every believer should read this allegorical picture of the salvation process. Even if you disagree with some of Bunyan's conclusions, you will benefit from an understanding of his orthodox protestant view. I recommend owning a print copy for marking and notes but this version is wonderful for convenience and portability.
Pilgrim's Progress should be required reading for every believer. Bunyan, a most gifted and inspired author, describes the Christian's walk in such a way that all can understand and relate to his experiences. I prefer the original old English version with scriptural references. There's also a children's version.
I had been wanting to read this book for years and finally got around to it. This was in the King James English which though more poetic was difficult to read at times. There were no illustrations in this book despite the title. I think every Christian should read this.
Having selected "The Pilgrim's Progress" for a Summer 2015 Reading Group, this was our pick for the Version. This fit the bill for an updated writing, holds to the integrity of original writing and includes classic prints from a written book. In addition, we are offering a printed version of the "The Pilgrim's Progress", although this particular edition does not seem to be available in print. At the time of purchase, we paid 99 cents for the version, chosen over the free versions for it's easier reading format.
