After a multi-generational journey, the first interplanetary colonization vessel christened The Pythias is approaching the star Eridani. On the third planet in the system, Elpis, a contingent from the ship will land and start a new society. However, there is trouble brewing on the ship as the societal change caused by the imminent departure of a portion of the crew is too much for some to bear. The planet will also have surprises for the colonizers when the biology of the ship and this new world clash. Events soon spiral out of control and the survival of both the colony and the ship are in doubt. The captain of the ship, Jerome Gates, and the commander of the colony, Dr. Laura Hansen, will need all their intellect and skill to try to save their people and salvage this most audacious human undertaking.

I am a biologist and avid lover of science fiction. I am one of those rare categories of human who does not ask "Star Wars or Star Trek?"; I whole-heartedly bellow out BOTH. I have been a fan of "geeky" cinema and literature ever since I could hold my head up on my own. In all of my science fiction fandom it has been rare to find a work that so pleasantly melds insightful biological knowledge with an intriguing, captivating storyline. The Stars of Eridani transported me to another world where I was unable to stop reading. It has the right amount of mystery and novelty without making you feel as if you are being left behind. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Go forth and read on.Product details

The Stars of Eridani Matthew D Moran Books Reviews
I am not a science fiction fan, but this book captivated me until the very end. I wish it was a couple hundred pages longer because I absolutely would love to read more of this story! This book was infused with many scientific principles that made the story even more intriguing because they lent a very realistic feel to the Stars of Eridani. I hope for sequels!
This novel is a well-paced page turner that paints a vivid and complex picture of a new world and human interactions with it. It was an interesting and thought provoking read.
This book is a page turner! I ordered this book about a month ago and finally getting the chance to read it. Now I'm having trouble putting it down!
Full disclosure I am typically NOT a sci fi fan (although I was a Trekkie years ago) but loved this book and could not put it down. The book is so well written that I could visualize the characters and the scenery almost immediately. It became like an exciting movie in my head. I can't wait for the next book and, who knows? Maybe I'll turn into a huge sci fi fan after all--certainly of any books that Matt Moran writes!
